When you’re looking for a good deal at an estate sale, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you’ll want to pay attention to the prices that are being asked for items. If you see something that’s priced significantly lower than it would be at a regular store, it’s probably a good deal. A good way to see if an item is a good price is by using the eBay app to check what an item is worth before buying it. Second, you’ll want to ask the estate sales staff about any discounts that may be available. Often on the second and third days of an estate sale, they have standard discounts on the items for sale. Sometimes, you can get a lower price if you’re willing to pay cash or buy a large number of items and get “bundle pricing”. Finally, you should inspect the items that you’re interested in carefully. The most important part about buying things at an estate sale is that you like them. Often items inside an estate sale are older and of high quality, so it can be hard to know what the price should be, this is where I always default to; if you like it, and can afford it, buy it!
Once you’ve decided which items are worth buying at an estate sale, it’s time to make your purchase. If there are many items that you want, ask for a discount because you’re buying in bulk. Also, before asking for the price of an item, look around and make sure you have everything that you want to buy, its better to negotiate when you have finalized the items that you want then to try and negotiate every item as you shop. And while you’re shopping, don’t be afraid to ask questions. The staff is usually very helpful and will provide information about any problems with an item or its history if asked.
After you’ve finished your shopping at the estate sale and purchased all of the items that you want, it’s time to go home and unpack them. Check each item carefully for damage and make sure that everything works as intended before putting it away or using it around the house. With a little bit of care, though, your estate sale finds can provide you with years of enjoyment.
